Nuthall's Folly

 Nuthall's Folly St. Mary's County Addendum Nuthall's Folly represents a significant two-and-a-half story, side-passage, double-parlor brick dwelling with a series of telescoping gable end additions and subtle Greek-Revival detailing located on the banks of the Potomac River in Maryland. Erected in the 1840s by William Nuthall, the dwelling represents one of the most deliberately and extensively decorated houses in St. Mary's County in the mid-nineteenth century. Approached via a long, straight road periodically lined with cedar trees, the setting around the dwelling as well as the house itself retains much its original character. 
We took an hour and used up our last bit of bait before it spoiled. This old manor house sits along the shore line where we pass by to fish one of our favorite fishing holes. I'm pleased it has been well cared for over the years. We have known several of the families who have lived there over the past 50 years.
