By the river

I planned to make an early start today, to make up for yesterday not being as productive as I hoped, but in fact my plans came to nothing, and we got up at the usual time around 7am. It didn't help that I was a bit stiff and sore from yesterday's adventures with barbells. But I've generally been pretty productive, and hard at it, apart from walking back from the supermarket in order to get some steps, and a blip. These fuschias are along the Water of Leith, just by the Bonnington Weir. I also had the option of photographing some flowers at home, so I've added a gladiolus ageing gracefully as an extra (got to use them up... I won't be doing much gadding around for the next two months or so...).

Chapter 6 has continued at a steady pace. Today I've been mostly writing about Brexit and populism. Plenty of contemporary material there.... Actually, I hate writing about Brexit, but the book wouldn't be complete without a section on it, so I had to plunge in again.
