Small bolete growing in Bagger Wood
A short walk in Bagger Wood for me this afternoon. I thought I’d check out if there was any interesting fungi in the wood, but it was rather disappointing. A biggish patch of a `trooping’ dull brown fungi half hidden in the grass (I’ve given up trying to identify brown fungi). Then this small orange/yellow bolete (which I wouldn’t have realised was a bolete if I hadn’t dug it up) also a small puff ball and quite a lot of a yellow Brittlegill (Russula), which I’ve seen in this part of the wood in previous years. It was lovely to be out, even though there were a few drops of rain. It’s beautiful now and the wind seems to have dropped.
