Angles on wine
We needed to replenish our wine stocks after the indulgence of the past couple of weeks and it was a beautiful morning, with the snowy peaks of the Pyrenees clear in the distance, for a trip to Roquessels for our favourite red wine and, our usual supplier of white wine in the village being closed till Tuesday, to the cave cooperative at Laurens. The entrance to this caveau des schistes is formed in shapes of metal and glass that represent the layers of schiste in the sedimentary shale characteristic of the vineyards in this area. Home at the end of the morning to cook the mussels we'd bought earlier, in the white wine from here.
