Del Etap....

....you could tell by the way he was standing up on the pedals of his road-converted track bike, that my cycling partner Del 'Chris Hoy' Timmins was having to slow-up a fair bit to let me stay in touch. My lack of basic fitness was cruelly exposed on the return journey and I didn't help my cause by running out of water. For all that I enjoyed it, lovely day for a trip through some previously untraveled east coast B roads to Haddington and then a return through Pencaintland, Tranent, Musselburgh and finally Leith. Best bits;

1) Del changing a puncture in a shade under 5mins; precisely how long it would take me to get my back wheel off.
2) A young female cyclist inviting us to cycle through at the Ramsay Tech traffic lights, only to take-off like a scalded cat and disappear over the horizon. Male sporting pride firmly placed back in its box.
