Show off
Today is my 6 year anniversary of starting Blip. Six years without a break, even if sometimes they are back blips; just like this one. We always go to the Edinburgh International Exhibition of Photography, even though it often frustrates with its emphasis on photographic ‘art’, rather than someone seeing a good composition. They have revamped the display so all photos are now mounted in the same size frame and hang from wires around the walls. As a result the look is much cleaner and they can display more than they did before. As ever the selection is down to the selectors and this year there were more naked ladies than landscape, which seemed odd.
We then went and bought a sandwich and sat in the shade in Princes Street Gardens near this rather good reflective vehicle which added interest to the bench. A couple of lassies had sat down for a blether when a youth came and tried to impress them with his ball skills. He wasn’t great but one lassie stole a few glances.
I thought I would select my favourite blip (selected on 27 August) from each year to be indulgent.
Year 1 – Slovenia
Year 2 – Edinburgh
Year 3 – Orienteering
Year 4 – Edinburgh
Year 5 – Norway
Year 6 – Knoydart
Roll on the next 6 years.
