Sharing
I have been advised by the hospital to consume isotonic drinks but I did not think I would be sharing the Lucozade sports drink with a butterfly.
This little white cabbage moth (I think that is what it is) provided me with a Silly Saturday scenario. Every Saturday i try to seek out something bizarre or incongruous , but today I didnt have to wait long or go very far. The butterfly had been hovering around in the Glass Room since early morning. Thanks once more to Admirer for challenging us.
This afternoon I had assessments and blood tests at the hospital. I have put on three pounds in weight over the past three weeks, my health seems to be improving and the nurse was pleased with my progress. Hopefully the results of the blood tests will show better kidney functions and the planned chemo for Tuesday will happen.
On the way back home we visited a small garden nursery that specialises in old olive trees, bay trees and high quality topiary. Some of the olive trees are 150 years old. They are magnificent and reminiscent of Italian gardens. A couple of years ago we bought two bay trees which we potted in large colourful stone pots. They have survived well and are kept outdoors throughout the year.
A trip to Homebase - where we bought bags of shingle and wooden posts to complete the area around the new decking. Unfortunately I cannot yet lift anything or do any gardening or digging, so it is left to Ian to do all the manual work. I love weeding and find it a cathartic process, and i miss the regular tidying up that I did. Hopefully I can soon return to this agreeable chore .
Homebase had a plant sale and I bought three plants reduced to half price, and a beautiful orange lily reduced to a £1. It adds a bit more colour to the garden.
Looking forward to a quiet evening watching a movie on TV , a glass of bubbly - and ian is making vegetable tempura. Who needs anything more?
