Saturday night, centre centre Christchurch!

This is the heart of the city centre in Christchurch, New Zealand's second largest city on Saturday night. Pretty quiet huh?

We have a friend staying, a kiwi who lives in London. This is the first time he has been to Christchurch since the earthquakes so we took him into the city tonight for a look. This is the new Restart Mall or container mall as it is know as. Busy during the day there is nothing open at night.

The tram tracks shown are part of the new route for the tourist tram that was just about finished before the Feb 2011 quake happened. I don't think the trams ever made it to the tracks.
