There's a first time for everything!

...... a water lily, in a pail, surrounded by Maidenhair Fern. 

I presume the bud had been rescued from the pond in the St Andrews Botanic Gardens and encouraged to bloom in the shelter of the greenhouses.

After getting my hair cut this morning I took Hazel through to St Andrews to get the express bus back to Glasgow. St Andrews was very busy with new students arriving to start their University courses so I went up to the Botanic Gardens ..... a haven of peace and tranquility.
