Gasworks Park
Gas Works park contains remnants of the sole remaining coal gasification plant in the US. The plant operated from 1906 to 1956, and is surrounded by a high fence that really ruins close in photos. But I found a crack in the fence through which I could insert the lens of the camera - and capture a sense of the looming size of these towers. The rust is lovely but the light was not cooperating to show this off. And lots of weeds offer more texture in their perfect growing environment. Our drive home from Portland was quite smooth, 3 hours in the car and then a 6 mile fast walk with the camera around Lake Union.
