Heat wave +25c (or Indian summer already?)
In autumn sometimes a heatwave occurs after cooler period, and in the old times, in my childhood, we called that late summer hot season as Indian summer. I can not remember for sure was it already in late August..?
Nowadays however nobody talks about Indian summer anymore.
I am not sure why not, but maybe because in Finland it is almost forbidden to talk about anything regarding to any ethical group in playful meaning. Or serious for that matter. Even in children's concert there can not be an artist playing Indian role, wearing colorful feather helmet and singing only "ugh". Cultural appropriation is not a good thing, you see.
I remember that we played Indians many times in my childhood. We respected them, as we thought Indians as brave people. The word "ugh" was a mark of the leader: he did not have to say more.
Anyway Indian summer is here, I guess, as it is already late August turning to September.
I had my first trip to work in Helsinki today. Tremendously tired in the morning and I lost my eyeglasses just before I had to leave for bus and train. Wearing spare glasses it was not too easy to work... I did not see too much with my left eye, but right was quite sharp!
After an 12 hours workday, I was back home and found my glasses from my own bed under the blanket!
Blip is an everyday shot from the bus stop on my way home. This is the main street of the city andnew shiny tram line will soon be ready. There will be plenty of room for pedestrians, but only two lines to share for the tram and busses.
