Sitting in the Park
Basil and I took the bus into Loughborough this morning to buy fish and bras. It's a long story.
Sat with Aziz in the Berber Shop for an hour or so discussing his holiday in a desultory way, before leaving to catch the bus. Had to use the Ladies' en route only to find that the 20p operated entry gates had stopped working. Instead of letting ladies in for free, the toilet operatives had closed the main door and were letting women enter via the male toilet and then passing through the office between loos.
We travelled through Queens' Park on the way to the bus stop where I spotted this gent blowing his nose while sitting on one of the Ladybird book benches which have replaced all the old park benches. Certainly the benches are colourful. This gentleman seemed rather preoccupied.
When Len got home, we went to see Donington Le Heath manor and gardens. Much more peaceful than last Sunday. Len was impressed by the gardens but Basil was prevented from going in the tearoom and the manor house. I won't be visiting as often as I might have done because of that.
