catching the light...
...Xanthorrhoea (grass trees) in the little patch of bush Astro and I wander through each morning.
All 66 species are endemic to Australia and thrive in nutrient poor soils and respond to wildfires by flowering, the flowers on long spikes that can grow three to four meters in length!...that is a lot of flowers !
There are a few in our street that are old enough now to flower on a regular basis and the parrots go BONKERS when the flower arrive.
Literally like 'kids in a lolly shop'.
