A day in the life
Yes I know, another collage, but there's so much going on at the farm and this is only a fraction of it!
Lou and Winnie are visiting and what a difference 3 weeks has made. Winnie-May-Go is definitely showing potential. She's already looking better and has come out of her shell. It'll be interesting to see what she thinks of all the horses and hounds tomorrow ( today if you're reading this on Saturday ) as the hunt is meeting at the farm. It'll be too wet to go into fields so they'll just stick to the roads, which will be a nice gentle introduction to it for Winnie.
The pics show Lou on Winnie and Rachel on Nelson off for a hack. Both horses were rather frisky and I was actually quite glad to be left at home holding the baby! Mary and I went for a walk instead.
The ladies are coming out of the milking parlour and wandering back to their shed and there's a group of calves with a cute British Blue amongst the Freisians.
Topaz is still nursing the very naughty Jack. If only he knew that it's the considered opinion of everyone on the farm that it's time he was castrated as he's so very naughty and getting more aggressive - he bites anyone who doesn't move quick enough. Poor Topaz, he bites her and hangs on. She's too nice a mum, never retaliating, always keeping her patience.
The two hound pups are growing and I'd love to let them out for a play about, but they'll either leap all over me in an effort to be loved the most or get over excited and disappear off into the woods that run along the back of the farm. They will eventually come back, but goodness only knows what trouble they'll get into with the Game Keeper, who lives next door!
And of course most of the day is spent playing with Mary! This is the first time Aunty Lou has seen her playing on the rocking horse that she and Aunty Em gave her for Christmas.
