Cygnet
Had to go on the long trek to Telferton (East) to collect a package from Royal Mail, which the card said was too big for the letterbox. Turned out to be my autumn seed order, the padded envelope bulging with the two extra packs of Aquadulce Claudia broad beans that I'd ordered for our allotment neighbour Willie (he really rates the seeds, but swore off the internet about 15 yrs ago when he got a virus!).
When I got home I discovered that (a) the nematodes had arrived by separate delivery and (b) a constitutional crisis had erupted in Westminster. You really couldn't make it up.
We went for a short stroll up the Water of Leith as far as willow tree corner and met family Swan - mother, father and two teenaged cygnets who were looking very fine and velvet-y. They came over to see us, thinking we might have unhealthy snacks for them, but rapidly left us in disgust.
Btw, there's a blip-meet at the Porty Big Beach Busk planned for Saturday.
