No precipitation in Penrith

We went  up to Penrith today. It was pouring down when we set off and got heavier and heavier as we went up the M6 Then as we reached junction 40 it stopped . 
Dropped off the car and got a lift into town. 
First stop The Lemon tree cafe which is dog friendly. We were only going to have coffee and cake but ended up having a huge ham and  cheese salad which was delicious.
We then went for a stroll by the church and had a look at the Giants grave..( see extras) which apparently dates back to the 10 th century.
This lovely old house caught my eye.. in that bright orange it's not surprising .
As we walked back to the garage we passed the Fudge shop. .. it's been there for at least 30 years..and yes of course I had to buy a slab
