Lift off
It was Wassail Night in the village. The Morris men sang and danced and then led a torch-lit parade to the apple orchard to ward of evil spirits and bless the trees in the expectation of a good harvest to come. I don't think anyone takes this too seriously (I hope) - we are after all living in the 21st century, three hundred years on from the Enlightenment and all that.
It was more of an excuse for a bit of drinking, singing and playing with fire. This guy had fun lighting and releasing sky lanterns which rose serenely into the starless night sky.
