Xena
Tomorrow Xena is 12 weeks old which means she has been part of our family now for 4 weeks. Gosh, aren't those early days with a puppy hard work? She gets top marks for being fully toilet trained from 9 weeks old, she sleeps right through the night and has no problem going to bed and only wakes up at 7.30 /8.00am, she is undeniably cute, she has settled well and is confident around the house and garden now, she is now wanting to play with dogs when she meets them and is no longer nervous....on the negative side of things, my arms look like I have done a few rounds with a Great White shark as she is very bitey at times, our beautiful bowling green lawn has some nasty burn marks from where she does a wee...it could be worse I suppose. She has not chewed any furniture or shoes, and is learning new things every day. I suddenly noticed today how much bigger she has got, her legs are much longer and even her tail is longer.
After the birthday celebrations yesterday today has been quiet. However, tomorrow there is another birthday celebration in our house - usually both birthdays fall on the bank holiday weekend but this year we have not been so lucky.
Adam has gone back to Cambridge to help the people he is sharing a home with move in, Luke and Meriel have gone to London, and Thomas has been at a friend all day - I think I am going to sit down and finish watching Bake Off which I started last night. One of the contestants is sort of local as he is from a nearby village in Surrey, and another contestant is from the same college as Meriel was at Durham Uni.
