Lion King
The last day of our wonderful safari ended with a morning game drive that again delivered big time. In fact we saw for the first time Mr Big, the name given to this magnificent 5 year old lion who patrols his territory with his younger brother. He is the father of 3 cubs from the lionesses we saw on a kudu kill the previous day. We then came across a lone cheetah, who I have included in extras after giving him some processing treatment. On the way to the airport we found the remains of a hyena being cleaned up by white backed vultures, who curiously looked at a marabou stork who wanted to get in on the act. Of course there were many more sightings, too many to mention, as there were on all our days.
We were dropped at the airstrip to be met by our small plane to destination Maun. Another treat was install, the pilot said we have 4 seats and 5 people, would someone like to join me upfront in the co-pilot seat, yes me ! My safety briefing was don’t touch that joy wheel and keep your feet off the pedals. From Maun onwards to Jo’berg and then a night flight back to Heathrow. The last lap was in business so we got a good sleep on the lie flat beds.
I am working through my photos and have backblipped a couple more days with more to follow as I get back into the stride of normality again. Will also get back to commenting asap !
