The Town

I don't often photograph the town from this end so I stopped off at the end of my street for today's photo.

Every time I take in this view I wonder if they will ever put the spire back on the church.
It was removed in 1941 as it had become unsafe. I read at least one account that suggests it was due to the tanks rumbling along the Main Street during the training for the D Day landings.
