COALING UP

A grand day at NYMR with M . . . best viewing of Loco 2253 Omaha coaling up before her first trip of the day. Built at the Baldwin Locomotive Works Philadelphia in 1943, she is doing her final 500 mile checks here before the owner takes her to Dartmouth. Dressed as Transportation Corp USA she was in black livery on arrival and has just been painted on Teesside in her original plumb purple colour. Sadly the chap who did most of the welding work on her will be redundant as soon as she goes South to warmer climes.
Extras show Omaha the full size . . . notice the valve arrangement at the front . . . and Leaving . . . as the 10.30 train leaves Grosmont bound for Pickering.
