the great glossop bake off

I received some nice baking-related Christmas pressies so thought I'd give a bit of bread baking a whirl. It's at least 10 years since I last made bread so I'm not sure what possessed me to try an 8 strand plaited loaf...

Actually, I know exactly what possessed me - like many a viewer of the Great British Bake Off, I have a tendency to think they're making the challenges look harder than they actually are. It turns out I was a bit cocky - this particular challenge was beyond me and it will take quite a few more tries to perfect the plait. Rough as it may look, I had to blip it to show GloryGlory what I was banging on about when we ran into one another on the hunt for yellow stickers in M&S!

EDIT: Just noticed that last year's blip was all about baking too. Must be a seasonal thing.
