Flying beasties enjoying the mint flowers

I've really enjoyed watching the large array of insects this summer. Perhaps I've noticed more as I've been limited in my movements keeping me close to the back of the house and the views over the patio to the garden and the valley landscape behind.

I think having farm land stretching away into the distance means that wildlife is much more likely to wander by as they reach the edge of their natural territory. The front garden, which faces into town, is quite different.
