spreading the love

this view of the bottom of the ski-lift hides a lot of stuff, which makes it much, much more attractive than it is in real. However, it also hides a little market that takes place every Friday afternoon in the season where local producers sell bread, cheese, meat products, jams, honey etc to the tourists. I walked over there today to generously support the local economy or, as Mr Spitzi calls it "waste money on things that are far cheaper elsewhere". However, if one does buy elsewhere, one doesn't find out that gooseberries are called üaspina in Romansh, a piece of information that has enriched my life considerably.
I bought two kinds of bread, sausage and üaspina jelly and chatted to the lady who made it all about how hard it is to learn a foreign language. We spoke Swiss German which was foreign for both of us. I find these kind of encounters heart-warming and I like giving my money to people who make good products and make the effort to sell it well.
