De tha dol
So Blipfoto isn’t Gaelic compatible, or for any written language that requires accents. Another day in Benbecula and I’m waiting for G to collect me from the airport and I am wyling away the time looking at the noticeboard in the waiting area. It can occupy about 5 minutes of time which is above average for most noticeboard
displays. My Gaelic phrase the day is this one de tha dol what’s happening or what’s going on, used in a chatty informal sense. There used to be, perhaps still is, a BBC Alba children’s program called de tha dol stuffed full of former OHS pupils.
