Silver Ferns

My Dear Fellows and Dear Princess,

See, this sort of thing is wasted on me. But what the heck, I try to keep up with current events in this journal. 

These are the Silver Ferns, NZ's national netball team. Netball is pretty bloody huge in this country actually. Apparently the Silver Ferns were given a lot of grief before the Netball World Cup, but they came back with gold. 

GOLD!

It's a shame that I'm not into netball really. That sounds like a good story, a movie story about underdogs beating the odds. But, unless it is scripted by Sylvester Stallone or features Jamaicans bob-sledding, I tend not to have much interest in sport.

And besides, if I start to follow them now, they will undoubtedly start to lose. This is what being told to get excited for every football World Cup from 1974 to 1990 does to a fellow.
