Thistly

I didn't walk very far (certainly wasn't going to go into town), but managed to find a very decent pair of walking shoes/trainers in Tiso, after my last pair finally fell apart. Also made a sourdough loaf using khorasan flour, which smells absolutely delicious. I shall try to save it till Mr H comes back tomorrow and can try it.

Just behind Tiso's, where a fragment of ancient Leith fortifications remain - can't remember offhand if  they were down to Mary of Guise or Cromwell - I saw these handsome thistly creatures. I think they may officially be cardoons, rather than mutant thistles. Plus bonus wasp struggling in spider's web, I see......
