Worth It

It’s only a 300 mile round trip
and the reward is a few hours at the seaside.
In this blistering heat it’s a real treat
to get away from work and have a refreshing dip
in the warm sea. As you can see
it suits me and many others like me.
And it’s great to have a Bank Holiday
that isn’t wet – it is unbelievably hot.
Scorching! Almost too hot to think,
I think.Which is good –
I haven’t thought about Boris, Brexit,
pollution or melting icebergs once.
Well, until now, that is.
