Day 3 30 miles from Pula to Labin
. A hot and hilly ride through olive groves and vineyards with a 3 mile 250m decent followed by a 5 mile climb at the end!
The climb averaged 4-5 % all the way kicking up to 8% at the very end. All good fun in 30+ degrees. Reapplying suncream is a nightmare when you are dripping with sweat. Labin is a gorgeous old hill top town with a bell tower you can climb up for something like 70p. It's noticeably quieter and cheaper across this side of Istria. The apartment is fantastic and was really cheap as well.
We stopped in villages and had coffee, and then agin in another for refreshing orangina and a toastie. We need to be more careful about what we order as it had ham in it. Being vegetarian we picked it out and as we were hungry ate what was left. A shopping spree in a supermarket bought us breakfast.
I love all the outdoor cats, and how locals look after them.
