On Display

A few weeks ago I entered a local short story competition, with Hengistbury Head as its theme.  I got "Commended", which is good but not as good as last year.  There were more entries last year and I won a prize then.  Never mind.  The best entries are on display at the visitor centre, so I'm getting my moment of fame.  That's another gripe though.  It's really annoying when you enter a competition and check your spelling carefully, knowing you'll be penalised if it's wrong.  And then the organisers can't be bothered to get your surname right. That's enough whingeing for one day.
