Grandma to the Rescue!
1st leg of my journey to Airdrie, change at Carlisle and Glasgow.
About 3 weeks ago Sabrina phoned in a panic because she hadn't marked on her calendar that the childminder is on holiday next week and if I was free could I possibly.....?
Well of course I can!
My week will consist of collecting Amelia and Lucy from school and nursery a bit of tidying around and hanging out/folding washing.
In return I get my fare paid and get spoiled with lovely vegan meals (even though they themselves are not quite vegan) and fancy gin - when I say fancy I mean with tonic and fresh fruit like strawberries, raspberries, pomegranate.
I never think of drinking gin at home being more of a beer person but after the girls have gone to bed (they are quite lively!) it is a nice way to wind down.
The girls will be as excited to see me as I will be to see them!
I'm also excited for another reason. For a while now - in my mission to rid my life of plastic - I have been looking for a wooden, refillable fountain pen ie not cartridge.
Well, last night I found one on Etsy. I was even more thrilled when Frank offered to pay for it! What a kind man and what a lucky girl I am :-]
I just got an email to say it's been dispatched - can't wait! I'll Blip it next week.
