The Ridges

This is a picture from across the river of the old insane asylum. It was self sufficient in its heyday with its own dairy barn and extensive gardens. The grave stones only have numbers to protect the identities of the patients. Of course there are many ghost stories associated with the grounds including a woman that got locked up in one of the towers you see there in the picture and her image is imprinted on the floor as her body decomposed in the heat of the summer sun. That is true, her imprint is still there to this day. It now houses offices of the university and an art gallery where I have worked as a guard before. Most of the wings have been left untouched though.

I am sure when it is warmer I will have some night time shots from the ridges. It is a favorite here at the university, especially around Halloween.
