Peacock

At the risk of Blip-snapping a few other entries on Blipfoto today, my own post is of a Peacock Butterfly. This is one of several I spotted during an afternoon walk around Dumbreck Marsh Local Nature Reserve in Kilsyth.

I was beginning to think the colder, wetter, windier weather had put paid to seeing more of these in this neck of the woods, but it turned warmer today and some of the thistles and other plants were still in flower. There were also quite a few bees and hover-flies enjoying a late summer feast.
