We spent most of the day in Brockholes. It’s a fabulous nature reserve. It includes a play area with assault course type part but my grandchildren were not interested today! We walked around among the tall grasses and wild flowers. All wild! Then took our picnic onto the floating visitor village and sat on large wooden beams to eat. A couple of ducks came hunting for bits but it is forbidden to feed them and as previously we had been pestered by them we were careful not to drop anything,

After lunch I walked round with the two eldest while Ro and 11yo kept Each other company. Finally when the sun had decided to put in an appearance we all had ice cream. Home and we are about to play 5 Crowns again!
