Cruise Control

I spent yesterday driving up to the Northwoods of WI to get my daughter from a 2week - freshman (college) orientation and bring her back to school to start her year. She has been away for 14days - no phones, no contact - just a weekly “she’s safe” email from the counselors.
I was thankful for the “cruise control” setting in my car as my excitement to see her would have pushed the peddle to 100mph+ for sure.
She did really well, had a great time, built some great new friendships and as our long 6+ hr drive home gave us great connection time... I’m feeling at peace, to let her go and experience college to its fullest. Now to just lock in that steady pace of life and set it to “cruise”.
