The Painted Hall

While L was at nursery today, N and I took advantage of a little child-free time and spent the morning in Greenwich. We had a lovely breakfast by the Thames (eggs royale - yum!) and then we visited The Painted Hall in the Old Royal Naval College (which is also the Old Royal Naval Hospital and Greenwich Palace).

Spectacular!

Years ago my mum and I visited the Sistine Chapel at The Vatican and we were quite underwhelmed but this room didn’t disappoint at all - probably greatly helped that we had the whole place to ourselves for a while (rather than sharing a small space with hundreds of others, having queued for hours in The Vatican).

We had a lovely, grown up sort of morning.
