A catch-up day today.

The concert in Symphony Hall, Birmingham, last night was pure magic. The CBSO are performing the entire programme at The Proms tonight and we had a special preview.

Mirga Grazinyte-Tyla is our wonderful young Musical Director, Lithuanian and a terrific conductor.

She has grace and energy and is a magnificent communicator.

She brought Sheku Kanneh-Mason to Birmingham three years ago, when he was only 17, well before his appearance at the Royal Wedding.

The programme was the Elgar Cello Concerto, which he performed with such emotion, passion and brilliance. He has developed so much since his last visit.

The CBSO Proms concert will be on the BBC.....please don’t miss it.
