Across the sea

Goodbye Vlieland, for we’re off on another ferry - to Harlingen and then on down the dyke to Makkum where, after the obligatory beer in the main square, we find a thankfully quiet little site on a farm outside the town.
Back in to town to eat. Eten en drinken. At first we’re amused by the owner at La Piccolo who enjoys quipping with us. How quickly wearying that forced wise crackery can become. We beat a retreat to the only locals bar that we could find.
And what’s it about Paul Simon here? His music is playing everywhere we go - a role which I understood was enjoyed by Creedance Clearwater Revival. Times, they must be a changing.
