The Challenge.
It is time for some potting on into larger pots.
For Cacti growers this can be more of a challenge than for growers of most plants.
The one in flower is not too difficult. Its spines are small and folded back against the body. Fairly easy to grip it with the old salad tongs and drop it into that new pot. I will not repot it until the flowers are over.
The one behind is more hazardous. It is a Grusonii popularly known as a Golden Barrel Cactus. The spines are stiff, strong and very sharp. At its present size the salad tong technique will still work. But they can grow to be very large and then it can be more of a problem. Fortunately they are quite slow growing.
