This afternoon we attended a site visit to Marholm Field Bank with the Langdyke Trust volunteers, to see the results of the scrub clearance carried out in the winter. The field was a picture with splendid displays of wildflowers including betony and marjoram, not to mention hundreds of pyramidal orchids. Even more exciting was the discovery of a thriving population of slender tare, the first recent record of this species in Northamptonshire. Our hard work was celebrated with tea, lemonade and home-baked cakes!
