Celebrating #Kidneyversary

What a day!

It is now 6 months since my kidney transplant, and I have been celebrating my kidneyversary with my family.  We had a lovely celebratory lunch together, perfick!

Of course none of this would have been possible without the incredible generosity of my friend and live donor, Geoff.  He is a hero!  I also think of the wonderful staff at UHW Cardiff and Manchester hospitals, whose skill and dedication ensured that Geoff and I were looked after and recovered well.

And of course all the incredible support I had here, on Twitter, real life and from my family.  I had an army behind me.

And to top the news today, my friend Ann, who has been on dialysis for quite a few years had the call yesterday and had the transplant last night/early this morning and is doing well.  So chuffed for her!

What a day!
