Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

124th Rose Parade

Watching this parade on the first day of the New Year is almost a tradition for us. Sometimes other things have been on our agenda and we miss it, but when I do get to sit in bed in my jammies watching, I thoroughly enjoy the moment.

This year viewing the parade was very emotional. Watching a soldier surprise his wife and 4-year-old child was a tear-jerker. So was watching a couple say their "I do" right there on top of a float on Colorado Blvd. Then we had the privilege of watching the marching band from one of our local high schools, Santiago, as they gave their best performance while moving through Pasadena. The Norco Cowgirls were also in the parade.

It was an all around good parade and even more fun to be watching while reading the comments of friends all across the country, all formerly from our community, posting comments on FaceBook.

Good night from a very windy cold Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol

P.S. If I get a moment, I'm hoping to put together a collage of several of the photos I captured, but I just haven't had the time yet.
