Sutton Hoo

Drove across to Suffolk this morning and spent the afternoon visiting Sutton Hoo. We had a very good guided tour of the Royal Burial Ground area, another interesting place although there is hardly anything recorded from this period in our history, they cannot be absolutely certain who was buried in the mounds -the photo is a reconstruction of the helmet which was found in pieces in one of the mounds together with the famous boat and other artefacts.
Tomorrow we are visiting our friends near Ipswich.
