Macclesfield town crier

He came to the WI to give a talk about the duties of a town crier. He kindly put his hat on while I took a photo. Apparently, when he’s on duty, only the Monarch can give him permission to remove his hat. It was a good talk but he did like the sound of his own voice. Perhaps that goes with the territory :-)
