Classic
This is a classic shot of the iconic Five Rise Locks in Bingley on the Leeds to Liverpool canal but if you look closely you will see something a little different.
I’ve never seen the gates so heavily covered with greenery.
It’s not they are not in use, there were two barges going down as we passed and several lining up at the top of the locks as of course it is still peak season and the canal is busy with pleasure craft.
We had some items from church to take to the Food Bank so we decided to go on the bus and then walk along the canal. We stopped at the Five Rise Cafe for coffee and a bite to eat (amusing ice cream sign for Ice cream for Dogs!) and then continued along the canal to Riddlesden.
A pleasant walk that we haven’t done for a while. Got the bus back to Bingley and did a little bit of shopping, my first visit to Lidl!, before heading home.
Bright and breezy, a most pleasant day.
