Sports Cabriolet

On my way to the hairdresser this morning I saw this rather elderly car. I am not sure what make it would be, or even what vintage. I am thinking maybe a Morris of maybe the late 1930s or late 1940s?

Not sure which would have been older, the car or the driver. Though not quite old enough to have owned it since new, might have inherited it from his father though.

The badges might give a clue as to the make, but they are not clear enough, it was rather a hurried shot as the car emerged from a side road.
