Plane Spotting

One of the best features of Craigie's Farm, after the excellent play area and appetising lunches, is the frequent flyover of aeroplanes, but sometimes the trees obscure the view.

The Flumlet thought they would be easier to spot from the highest position on the net swing and entreated us to push him higher and higher until I was afraid he would fall off. As you see, he clung on tight.

One of the worst features of Craigie's Farm is the condition set for Pick-your-own fruit. Although we had not promised, the Flumlet had his heart set on picking raspberries for tea but the farm expects us to pay £3 each, no matter how few we intend to pick. We refused to pay the £9 just for a few berries, offered to buy a punnet of ready-picked but this did not satisfy the boy, who expressed his disappointment in no uncertain terms - and I hope the management heard every wail, scream and cry.

 We dragged him off persuaded him back to the car and drove down to the airport's 'back door', a popular viewing area. Here we settled down and enjoyed watching the arrival and departure of many planes - the Flumlet recognises many airlines by their livery but we checked the travel details on an App.

Then it was time to come home, and relax with a cartoon or two. We hope he enjoyed the day as he starts school tomorrow.
