Marken Lighthouse.

The sun has shone and blue skies have reigned. It's been pleasantly warm most of the day even in the, at times, very gusty winds!

After negotiating our way out of Amsterdam we headed through many little villages filled with cute traditional houses each with their individual quirks. It was then on to a bigger village of Monnickendam with many a traditional schooner.

Mum and I then decided to make a detour back to Marken, an island out on a bit of a limb really!! A long, thin strip of land joins it to the mainland which was great fun to cycle along. We then pedalled round the entire island including visiting the lighthouse. Beautiful and a fab detour before carrying on our way. :-)
