O Happy Day!

Took Maui for a long walk along Wishing Springs Creek. Hot and a bit humid, but good cloud cover most of the way. Passed kids and parents on bikes, couples posing with their dogs for a quick photo op, only two butterflies. She wanted to take a wade or two in the cool water and I so wanted to join her. Didn’t think to bring my bathing suit and water sandals. DUH!

Maui does so love to wriggle in the grass where strong scents lie—decaying worms, mice, goose poop...whatever it smells like, she smells like. UGH! The joy in her body takes over. Passers by smile as I strain to keep her on leash. But’s it so energizing.

Came home and tried to decide on the blip for the day. Took a couple of Maui, a bridge, rushing water, ultimately deciding that everything else other than the wriggle was flat. After that exhausting exercise, I tried to take a short rest, but no Abby or Henry or Maui would snuggle. Pooh. Just not the same. So I just played with the blips.

Still pet sitting Mattie, my friend’s Cockapoo. Mattie’s depressed. Just wants to curl up in her dog bed. I tried to engage her, but she really doesn’t have a clue how to play. Her version of it is to roll on her side, tinkle a bit and wait for me to rub her tummy. Really misses Bert. Perhaps a car ride?

Time for a quick snack—peanut butter, mmmm. A brief nap. I’d love to dream of different scenes to shoot. Peanut butter helps dreams stick to my eyelids.
