The Bees are buzzing in the Trees
It's not a bee, it's a wasp, and a drunk wasp at that.
Drunk on slightly over-ripe raspberries.
We had a couple of hours at the allotment - it was a bit sad, because when we visited last night, i counted over 20 frenchbeans ready for picking. This morning... NOTHING. all gone. :-( I was devastated.
Four out of five cauliflowers -all gone to seed, within a week of flowering.
Ach well, you can't win them all.
Tonight though, Himself excelled in the kitchen.
Impressed as he was with dinner at the Crown and Anchor in Lindisfarne, he decided to recreate the pea risotto with Halibut.
I was happy enough with risotto.... risotto with peas from the plot... but this. Heavenly risotto, peas, seared scallops and hallibut fillet fresh from the harbour and delivered to our new fish shop.
I could not speak for eating. I could not eat for staring at it. I couldn't even take a photo to preserve it's memory. I gazed at it I gazed at him, i ate, i drooled, I sighed, I savoured.
It was so lush.
so, so very lush.
